When it comes to confidence, style, and setting the tone for summer, no one does it quite like Megan Thee Stallion.

Now, she’s bringing that same energy to her latest partnership with True Religion, a brand that she once collaborated with before on their 2024 Holiday campaign, and has long been a staple in her wardrobe.

For Megan, the collaboration is deeper than showing off what’s on the surface; it’s personal.

“Working with True Religion on their campaign has been an incredible experience,” she tells ESSENCE. “I grew up buying True Religion jeans, so it’s still surreal to be the face of one of their campaigns.”

Beyond the nostalgia, the rapper says the partnership also allowed her creative vision to shine. “They really embraced my creative concepts throughout the process, and I’m proud that we worked together to bring our shared vision to life,” she shares.

The collection includes a standout pink velour tracksuit adorned with embellished butterfly motifs across both the jacket and pants. Also featured are ultra-short shorts embroidered with the True Religion logo in vibrant hot pink thread, paired with a sporty jersey halter top that perfectly captures the playful, Y2K-inspired energy of the capsule. This early-aughts theme is perfect for Megan, as the rapper is known for modernizing the look that the denim label certainly pioneered in the late 90s and early 2000s.

That said, the pieces are not complete without accessories that scream Y2K. “I would self-style pieces from the collection with vintage shades,” she says. “I also love tying scarves through my belt loops for a little extra razzle-dazzle or maybe booty shorts with heels to make my legs really pop. You also can’t go wrong with some baggy jeans with crop tops.”

Megan advises against falling into surface-level trends and instead embracing your authentic self. She explains, “Everyone’s style is different, so I would just encourage everyone to embrace their own self-expression and be unapologetically themselves with their fashion,” she says. “That’s the true Hot Girl mentality.”

It’s a mindset that has become central to her personal brand. “At the end of the day, you make the clothes, the clothes don’t make you,” she adds. “An outfit truly looks its best when it’s worn with confidence from within.”

As for her current style era, Megan isn’t interested in fitting into one specific aesthetic. Instead, she allows her mood to guide her wardrobe. “I just wear things that I feel sexy and confident in,” she explains. “One day, I might feel like doing a subtle cosplay, so I’ll take regular pieces and give a nod to some of my favorite anime. Other days, I may feel like dressing like a 2000s video vixen.”

That freedom to experiment has helped Megan continue evolving both on and off stage. And when life gets hectic, she relies on a routine that keeps her grounded. “Working out is definitely one of my favorite pick-me-ups,” she says. “It gives me a chance to reset mentally, boost my energy, and improve my physique.” The rapper has been vocal about her fitness journey over the years, and she views exercise as more than a physical transformation.
