The House Oversight Committee on Tuesday released the transcript of its interview with tech billionaire Bill Gates as part of its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.

Gates appeared before the committee for a nearly six-hour interview on June 10 to answer questions about his past involvement with Epstein.

According to the 138-page transcript, Gates told lawmakers that he did not see or suspect that Epstein was committing crimes at the time, though he knew of Epstein’s prior sex crime conviction. Gates said his meetings with Epstein were aimed at raising money for his global health foundation. He expressed regret for getting involved with Epstein, calling it “a grave error in judgment.”
