Marjorie Taylor Greene says she’s ‘done’ with the Republican Party

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said she no longer supports the Republican Party, solidifying her break from a party steered by a man she once likened to Jesus Christ.

She explained her decision in a series of posts beginning on Monday, when the former Georgia lawmaker declared on X that she was “DONE with the America LAST Republican Party.”

Greene pointed to comments from former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who similarly defected from the Republican Party in recent months. Carlson said in a podcast interview last week that there was “no chance” he would support the GOP, citing President Donald Trump’s decision to go to war with Iran, which Carlson has blamed Israel for in the past.

“How could I or any American voter support a political party that’s not loyal to the United States, that puts the interest of a foreign country above those of its own citizens?” he said.

Greene had a public falling out with Trump last year over a number of policy issues. Her support for the push to compel the Justice Department to release its Jeffrey Epstein files particularly enraged the president, and he withdrew his endorsement of her re-election bid.

Greene’s rift with Trump was a hard U-turn for a lawmaker who was one of his fiercest defenders in Congress. She resigned from the House in January 2026, and, like Carlson, has since been a vocal critic of the Iran war.

“There is A LOT of us that are absolutely fed up and will not support a party that betrays its voters and country,” she wrote on X.
