Michael B. Jordan is back in the director’s chair with The Thomas Crown Affair, and audiences now have their first trailer for the upcoming film.

Jordan directs and stars as Thomas Crown, a billionaire whose taste for risk leads him to steal a painting while another robbery falls apart. His actions draw the attention of an insurance investigator, setting up a pursuit complicated by a growing attraction between the two.

The new Thomas Crown Affair marks the third time the story has reached the big screen. Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway starred in the 1968 original, written by Alan R. Trustman. Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo later took on the lead roles for the 1999 remake.

Jordan’s version features an ensemble cast including Adria Arjona, Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone and Danai Gurira. Pilou Asbæk also appears in the film. Jordan produces through Outlier Society alongside Elizabeth Raposo, with Charles Roven producing for Atlas Entertainment. Marc Toberoff and Patrick McCormick are also producers.

The screenplay comes from Drew Pearce and Jason Hall, with the story credited to Trustman and Pearce. Trustman also serves as an executive producer alongside Hall.

The trailer was initially shown to attendees at CinemaCon in April, shortly after Jordan earned the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. The film arrives in theaters March 5, 2027.
