Rep. Lauren Boebert’s adult son charged with child sexual exploitation

The adult son of Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert was arrested last weekend on charges of sexual exploitation of a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to authorities in Colorado.

Records provided by court officials in Garfield County show that Tyler Boebert was arrested on suspicion of five felonies dating back to early 2024.

Tyler Boebert has had previous encounters with law enforcement, including pleading guilty in 2024 to a felony count of attempted identity theft related to a rash of vehicle break-ins.

MS NOW was unable to find contact information for Tyler Boebert. Joseph Gavaldon, a lawyer who previously represented him, did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment, and it was not clear if Boebert has retained an attorney in this case.

“I love my son,” Rep. Boebert told MS NOW in a statement Monday. “We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time.”

Tyler Boebert’s bond was set at $10,000, and he was released Sunday from the jail in Garfield County, which runs along Interstate 70 west of the state’s major ski resorts and extends to the Utah line.

Rep. Boebert got elected in 2020 to represent that area, Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, before moving to the less competitive 4th District, which covers the state’s eastern plains, midway through her second term.

The MAGA lawmaker has been an outspoken advocate for victims of sexual abuse. In defiance of the Trump administration, she was one of four House Republicans who joined Democrats to sign a discharge petition forcing a vote for the Justice Department to release a trove of documents related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

She has also spoken out against sexual misconduct in Congress.
