The couple threw a star-studded Black-tie affair in Malibu to celebrate their union.
NBA Champion and New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns and influencer and entrepreneur Jordyn Woods just got their second major rings of the year, and this time they’re wedding bands. The longtime couple lovingly said “I do” in a Malibu, California wedding. Based on the pictures swirling around social media, it was worth the wait.
While florals surrounded the outdoor wedding venue, which overlooked the Pacific Ocean in the few photos available online, Woods, 28, was the moment. She exuded classic beauty as she walked down the aisle in a strapless custom Italian silk bridal gown by Danielle Frankel, accessorized with a chiffon train. The fashionista dialed up the glamour by adding a lace scarf around the front of her neck that connected to the gown’s straps.
Her new husband matched her fly with a classic black tuxedo, sprucing it up with two brooches.
The beauty told Vogue that the dress “..Is better than what I thought my dream wedding dress would be.”
A number of A-list celebrities got to experience the couple’s love in real time, including Teyana Taylor, Michael B. Jordan, Olandria Carthen, Jada Pinkett-Smith and son Jaden Smith (longtime family friends of the bride), and Gayle King. It was a black-tie affair, so the stars literally pulled up in their best black looks.
It wouldn’t be an NBA wedding without details that were a nod to the sport. Some guests were allegedly spotted leaving the wedding venue in “Married in 15” jerseys, a possible play on “Knicks In 5,” a slogan that became pervasive as Towns led the Knicks to a historic championship win this summer. Guests also left with Fanatics party favors and In-N-Out cups, which are all signs of a good time.
The newlyweds have a love story for the ages. Their foundation is built on years of friendship, resilience, overcoming adversity and team work. The couple took their relationship from platonic to romantic in 2020.
“I think it’s kind of cool dating your best friend,” Woods said on her Instagram series “Regular-ish” in September 2021. “We know each other. We know each other’s hearts. We know each other on good days and bad days, and we’ve been through a lot of bad days together.”
They announced their engagement on Christmas Day last year, to the surprise and pleasure of fans. Towns proposed on a rooftop in New York City.
Woods has been a rock to Towns, who lost his mom and biggest supporter in 2020 due to COVID-19 complications and he’s also relentlessly supported her throughout the years. Let’s toast to the couple. May their love continue to wax strong!
