Jay Maisel, a cigar-chomping giant of photography, has died

Washington Post – Arts & Entertainment:

He photographed Marilyn Monroe and took the cover photo for Miles Davis’s “Kind of Blue.” For 50 years, he lived in a vast graffiti-covered bank building.
