Natalie Harp, a top aide to President Donald Trump, gave her first interview since becoming the subject of intense speculation over her role in the White House — kind of.

The Washingtonian on Thursday published emailed responses from White House Communications Director Steven Cheung, who said Harp sent him answers to the magazine’s questions. Although the questions focus on Harp’s background and experiences, her replies pivot quickly and often to Trump and her work.

When asked what the hardest part of her job was, Harp, 35, lamented the lack of urgency from lawmakers in the capital to implement Trump’s agenda.

“Washington, D.C., does not work at the speed of ‘TRUMP!’” she said in the email. “We have only four years to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and that sense of urgency is absent from too many, while the Radical Left tries to stop, or slow down, the momentum the President is building for the Golden Age of America.”

The responses to the Washingtonian from Harp, who posts on Truth Social on Trump’s behalf, echo the president’s social media posts, with grandiose claims and liberal uses of capitalization. But the answers revealed little, if anything, about her.

When asked how her relatively young age has factored into her professional success, Harp said “age is just a number” and went on to praise Trump.

“Throughout his career, the President has never compartmentalized people into their demographics, but rather has the rare gift of seeing something in people that perhaps they don’t see in themselves, male or female, young or old, and then bringing those gifts into focus,” she said.

Harp’s role in the White House and the nature of her relationship with the president have come under scrutiny in the past month after she and other aides snuck out of Air Force One with him under a potential threat from Iran. She is known to be devoted to the president, but her proximity and access to him has frustrated other top aides. She also worked at the White House without security clearance for more than a year and declined to undergo the process for unknown reasons until Trump intervened.
