Joe Scarborough rips Trump’s lack of regrets as Americans struggle

MS NOW’s Joe Scarborough slammed Donald Trump after the president told reporters he has no regrets about the choices he has made since returning to the White House. On Monday’s “Morning Joe,” Scarborough said Trump’s response, as millions of Americans struggle under his economy, showed he has “no humility.”

During a gaggle with reporters on the White House South Lawn on Sunday, Trump was asked to reflect on his second term so far. The president called it “great,” saying he has delivered “the most productive two years” and claiming to be the “most consequential” president in U.S. history.

Asked Trump about whether he has any regrets about his first two years back in office with the midterms a month away.

“No, I love it. It’s been a great- I think it’s the most productive two years, they say, of anybody in the history of the presidency,” @POTUS said.

As Scarborough noted, Trump made those comments as he faces historically low approval ratings. Americans have grown frustrated with his handling of the economy, including his tariffs and the ongoing war with Iran, which has driven energy prices higher.

“No regrets, no humility, no self-awareness at all,” the MS NOW host said of the president.

Scarborough argued that Americans want a president who acknowledges their concerns, not one who boasts about his accomplishments and focuses on vanity projects instead of advancing policies to improve their circumstances.

“I know it sounds crazy, but Americans would rather the president talk about them than keep talking about himself,” Scarborough said. “Almost like they’d rather him talk about gas prices instead of Marie Antoinette ballrooms, diesel prices instead of grand arches that veterans groups are against, and inflation that he’s supposed to know so much about but obviously doesn’t.”

The “Morning Joe” co-host also compared Trump’s unwillingness to acknowledge his administration’s shortcomings with an infamous moment from the 2024 campaign involving former Vice President Kamala Harris. When the co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” asked Harris whether there was anything she would have done differently than then-President Joe Biden over the preceding four years, she said “not a thing” came to mind.

“Donald Trump, meet Kamala Harris,” Scarborough said. “It didn’t really work out well for her, saying that she wouldn’t change anything with Joe Biden’s last three or four years, when inflation had been high. Now you’re saying the same exact thing.”
