For the past four weeks, the fashion month cycle has swung from New York to Milan, London, and now it’s final destination, Paris. As the final stop on the calendar, Paris is known for its heavy-hitting line-up spanning the world’s most legendary designers. And, with it, comes one last say so on the beauty trends to try right now (that’ll be even more popular come spring).
At Saint Laurent and Chanel, for example, hair was slicked back into styles spanning from simple to ornate. Dior and Mugler introduced embellished eyes. But, instead of eyeshadow, they used foil-like adornments and a singular temple-reaching lash. Meanwhile, makeup was skin-toned at Margiela through concealer lips or, at Loewe almost free from makeup all together.
Ahead, the ESSENCE beauty team reports on all the trends from PFW SS27.
Slicked Back Hair
It’s silk press season. But, for spring/summer 2027, Saint Laurent and Chanel officially deemed it slick back season (which, luckily, works perfect for silk presses.) At Saint Laurent, hairstylist Duffy gave short-haired models minimalistic, head-sculpting slick backs paired with oversized earrings. As for Chanel, slicked back updos were bigger, wetter, and as sculptural as a chignon, keyed by the very same stylist.

Embellished Eyes
While Milan took smokey eyes to the extreme, Paris was more about subtle embellishments. At Dior, for example, cat-eyed models wore silver, foil-like eyeshadow on their outer corners keyed by Peter Phillips. Then, at Mugler, eyes were naked with the exception of one, long, embellished lash glued onto the corner of the eye and extending to the temple.

Natural Skin Tones
Finding your perfect shade match just got more literal. Makeup at Maison Margiela painted the lips to match the entire face for one monochromatic shade by artist Inge Grognard. Meanwhile, the same shade was brushed into the front of the hair. At Loewe, monochromatic lips and skin came natural to Black models, who required no makeup at all to achieve their gorgeously born look.
