A $15 million Compton arts center is in the works thanks to this formerly incarcerated painter

‘The City of Compton: Then & Now,’ an exhibition by Compton artist Fulton Leroy Washington — known as Mr. Wash — opened late last month. It’s part of the formerly incarcerated artist’s efforts to raise $15 million for a community arts hub.
