It’s been 10 years since Beyoncé last attended the Met Gala. But, tonight, she’s serving as more than just a co-chair. This year’s theme celebrated “Costume Art” and, for Bey, that meant dressing up as a skeleton dripping in diamonds.

The foundation of her gown was skin-toned mesh which delicately draped the floor. Then, on top, she wore diamonds for a spine, ribs, and hip bones, which even reached down to the tips of her fingers. A matching diamond headpiece was laid at the front of her blonde curls, which birthed strands that formed an s-shape right over her blush.
But, you couldn’t miss her ombré train. The shade deepened from blush pink, which was saturated by her arms, into a light then dark grey tone. There must have been a billion feathers left in her trail, which was held by an entourage of black-suited men (and a diamond-tied Jay-Z, who wasn’t far behind).

Meanwhile their daughter, Blue Ivy, made her Met Gala debut. To complement her Queen of a mother, Blue wore diamond heels and a braided version of Bey’s curls. Instead of a diamond bodice, the heir was drenched in a white gown with a ballooning train and a high-collared jacket layered over.
However, there’s still one question left lingering: Is this a hint at Act III?
