The move calms a crisis at the publicly funded broadcaster after Gary Lineker, a former soccer star, was removed from a flagship show because of a tweet about immigration policy.
Mr. Lineker, one of England’s best-known sports personalities, had accused the British home secretary of using language reminiscent of Nazi Germany to promote a plan to stop asylum seekers.
Other broadcasters are questioning Qatar’s treatment of migrant workers and its laws against homosexuality. Fox Sports’ coverage, heavily sponsored by Qatar, is focused on the matches.
