MS NOW’s Chris Hayes castigated far-right influencer Laura Loomer over what he called her latest “racist tirade” after she attacked several Black female lawmakers, including Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar and Ayanna Pressley and Florida Democratic Senate candidate Angie Nixon. Hayes also explained why he believes Loomer’s close relationship with President Donald Trump means her comments shouldn’t simply be dismissed as “racist remarks from a right-wing online troll.”

“Today’s political media attention environment has given birth to a whole bunch of right-wing influencers, and they’re known for and get paid to say the most horrendous and vile things. And we don’t, as a rule, spend a ton of time on them here on this program. But some of them are not just saying these bigoted things in a vacuum; they have the power of our government behind them, and none more so than Laura Loomer,” Hayes said on Monday’s “All In.”

Loomer came under fire after she referred to a slate of elected Democrats as “ghetto, entitled, race-obsessed, destructive black B—— who are completely unfit for the power they hold.”

Hayes pointed out that Loomer’s comment even drew a rebuke from former Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who said she denounced the conservative influencer “and her nasty, hateful, racist comments.”

“This is Trump’s new MAGA and Republican Party and I want nothing to do with it,” she added.

The MS NOW host said Loomer’s proximity and access to the president make her a unique figure among right-wing influencers. While she holds no formal title in the administration, she has claimed to communicate with Trump frequently through phone calls and has reportedly attended meetings at the White House.

Loomer has even publicly bragged about her apparent influence within the administration. As Hayes explained, in another post on social media, she appeared to take credit for the deportation of far-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos.

“I was the first person to report on the fact that Milo was in the US illegally where he incited violence against President Trump and worked for Marjorie Traitor Greene,” Loomer wrote. 

Hayes said that it would be “incredibly disturbing” if the United States did move to deport Yiannopoulos after Loomer’s interference.

“Loomer is not being subtle about her ability again to use the United States government — our government — to wage war against her political enemies in a factional dispute,” Hayes said. “This isn’t just some random streamer, this is not some unwell person screaming on the street. This is an unwell person who directly impacts policy.”
