Coco Jones is no stranger to uplifting Black designers. So, for one of the most important days of her life—her wedding to NBA star Donovan Mitchell—she turned to Brandon Blackwood for a custom pair of shoes that made the walk down the aisle even more special.
Blackwood designed what the brand describes as a “delicate sandal,” featuring barely-there straps, a sleek, slim heel, and soft ties that wrap elegantly around the ankle. Dubbed the Coco Tie Sandal, the shoe proves that, when it comes to bridal fashion, the smallest details can make the biggest statement.

And the devil was certainly in the details. The sandal features metal aglets engraved with BB, an embossed Brandon Blackwood logo, and a delicate bow detail at the ankle and toe. Even the sole received a personalized touch, embossed with “Coco” in honor of the bride. It’s the kind of thoughtful customization that transforms a beautiful shoe into a keepsake.
Jones paired the heels with an off-the-shoulder gown that cascaded down her body, creating soft draping and effortless movement as she celebrated her big day. But, as any fashion girl knows, one look is never enough. For her reception, she switched into a sexy, short bodycon dress with long sleeves and floral adornments, giving the custom heels a chance to shine in an entirely new way.
With her bridal wardrobe, Jones proved once again that centering Black designers makes her most memorable fashion moments even more meaningful.
