Former President Bill Clinton will make his first public campaign appearance of the 2026 midterms next week, traveling to Florida to stump for Democrat David Jolly in the state’s closely watched governor’s race.
Clinton is scheduled to join Jolly at an evening interfaith event in Hollywood, Florida, on Tuesday, Oct. 20, two weeks before Election Day and just as early voting gets underway in parts of the state.
Jolly, a former Republican congressman, handily won the Democratic nomination for governor in August. He now faces Republican Rep. Byron Donalds in a competitive race to succeed outgoing Gov. Ron DeSantis.
In the 2022 midterms, Clinton saved his campaign appearances for the closing days of the election, rallying Democrats in New York, New Jersey and South Texas. Two years later, he was far more active, making dozens of stops across battleground states for then-Vice President Kamala Harris and campaigning for a handful of downballot candidates.
Jolly isn’t the only Florida Democrat Clinton is helping this fall. Earlier this week, he and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries headlined a New York fundraiser for Rep. Jared Moskowitz, who is running in a newly drawn toss-up district after a remapping backed by DeSantis dismantled his old one.
