For designers Bruce and Glen, turning 41 called for more than a birthday celebration. The twin designers behind BruceGlen are marking the milestone by giving themselves, and their growing community of menswear fans, something they have been asking for: suiting.
For the first time, BruceGlen is bringing its signature color, playful details, and maximalist point of view into tailored menswear with a new suit separates collection. After finding success with their women’s suiting, the design duo is no stranger to the art of impeccable tailoring. “We’re still completely in love with color, but we wanted to explore what happens when you take that color into more sophisticated, tailored silhouettes,” Bruce Proctor tell ESSENCE. “These pieces feel grown, polished, and elevated without losing the joy and personality that people expect from BruceGlen.”

At the heart of the collection is the idea that menswear does not have to play it safe. Color blocking appears throughout the tailoring, making its way from the exterior into unexpected details like linings, lapels, collars, and buttons. The result is suiting that feels polished without subscribing to the traditional black, navy, or matching color palettes.
Among the standout pieces is a cropped blazer featuring a contrasting color-blocked lapel and collar, contrast buttons, and a satin finish that gives the relaxed silhouette a more formal edge. Pair it with denim for an effortless take on tailoring or wear it with the coordinating trousers for a wedding or black-tie occasion. The high-waisted, deeply pleated wide-leg pants are designed with the same versatility in mind, working just as easily as separates as they do as part of a full suit.
And because no BruceGlen collection would be complete without a little drama, accessories take the suiting even further. Cummerbunds add another hit of color, while chiffon flower lapels finished with ostrich feathers bring a playful, theatrical touch to the looks.
For Bruce and Glen, the collection represents an evolution rather than a departure. “We’re still champions of color,”Glen Proctor says. “That part of us isn’t going anywhere. But we’re interested in exploring what sophistication looks like for BruceGlen now.”

That spirit of evolution feels especially fitting for a birthday launch. Rather than looking backward, the twins are celebrating 41 by creating something new. Their hope is that men wearing BruceGlen feel elevated, confident, playful, and entirely themselves.
After all, as the designers put it, men deserve the same level of imagination they have always brought to womenswear. And their birthday wish is refreshingly simple: “No presents. Buy BruceGlen.”
The BruceGlen birthday suiting capsule is now available online, with prices ranging from $30 to $395.
