Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA), one of just two Republicans who voted to impeach President Trump in 2021 still serving in the House of Representatives, recently announced his retirement, opening up a rare electoral opportunity for Republicans in the deeply blue state.

The primary to replace Rep. Dan Newhouse is a rare opportunity for Washington’s Republicans to seek federal office. Candidates representing different wings of the party are testing Trump’s influence.
