Lauryn Hill Reminds Us Plum Is The Ultimate Transitional Lip Color

There’s one more item that Lauryn Hill should add to her list of iconic things she’s known for. In addition to the out of this world vocals and lyricism, acting skills, head-turning natural hair looks, and impeccable eclectic fashion sense, her signature makeup look is one to note as well.

In recent times, a plum lip shade has become her go-to. And, as we’re planning our late summer, and early fall, style moodboards, a deeper-toned lipstick is certainly on ours.

For one, she wore a red wine shade at her merch pop-up and signing at Dover Street Market in London in late July. She paired the look with a pink hat, chandelier earrings, and a white blazer. When she accepted her Living Legend Award at the BET Awards she paired a bold lip with blushy cheeks, a brown regal gown, and shield shades.

Regardless, she’s reminding us that the nineties-coded shade is ultra cool, timeless, and perfect for the transitional seasons ahead.

Below, for her inspiring and stylish moments while rocking the shade, and a few products that will help you recreate the look for yourself.
