Last Paris fashion week, Oprah Winfrey established equestrian style as a front row staple at Chloé and Stella McCartney. From ruffled blouses and stable jackets to bubble ponytails and cargo pants, she sported a style to match the 23-acre equestrian estate she owns. But, today, O proved her Western wardrobe is just getting started.
The billionaire attended Cannes Lions in a new rodeo-ready Schiaparelli ensemble worth over $6,000 dollars. To start, her Cowboy Pants were crafted from Japanese denim with tobacco-colored stitching (like the one cowboys chew). But, it wouldn’t be fit for a media tycoon without glamorous appliqués. Instead of metal or plastic buttons, a row of hammered gold-tone brass jewels were how she buttoned up her high waist.
Then, tucked into her trousers was the Piercings Polo, a short-sleeved ecru silk ribbed top. Like her bottoms (and as the name suggests), her top was pierced with three pieces of gold jewelry to fasten her neckline. Similarly, she paired her look with a gold bracelet, ring, and a pair of earrings, which all complemented her signature oversized circle spectacles. As for shoes? A simple black slip-on sandal was fit for walking the French Riviera.
Just like her equestrian wear, her beauty has become just as much of a staple: Big brown curls with highlights, dark eyeliner, and a summer nude lip with an equally neutral manicure. A look just as functional as it is fashionable, her Western look is a style that’s easy to switch up. Throw on some riding boots for a deep South rodeo or, make like Oprah and prance around France like a polished, well-styled dressage rider.
