Park Police spokesman acknowledges chemical agents used on Lafayette Square protesters are similar to tear gas

A spokesman told Vox that it was “a mistake” to deny that the agency employed tear gas. Hours later, the acting chief reiterated his statement that Park Police officers did not use tear gas.
