Progressive Abdul El-Sayed wins Michigan’s Democratic primary for Senate

People vote in the primary election at Northwestern High School in Detroit, Tuesday.

El-Sayed, an epidemiologist, backs Medicare for all and decries corporate money in politics. He beat Rep. Haley Stevens, whose supporters said she would have had a better chance in the fall.
