Staff Sgt. Rampersad, 28, who always knew she wanted to serve, is laid to rest

The casket of Staff Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, who was killed in the ongoing war between the U.S. and Iran, is carried by NYPD officers during the funeral procession in New York on Friday, July 31.

Staff Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad is one of a handful of service members who’ve recently died in the conflict with Iran. Her family says she knew from a young age she wanted to serve in the military.
