It’s September, which means New York Fashion Week’s spring-summer 2027 season is the first to say what’s “cool.” But, while the shows are setting trends for next year, the streets are showing what to wear right now.
Transitional wardrobes are in full swing: Lightweight jackets, loose-fitting pants, and pre-fall reds were all over the city. One attendee accessorized her red top with two belts layered over her waist (instead of through belt loops). Meanwhile, others proved you can never go wrong with all-black suiting—especially paired with oversized hats and bags.
Prints were unexpectedly chic, from plaid button ups worn with zebra-print skirts to polka dot jackets and pinstripe sets. Winnie Harlow, for example, arrived to the Tommy Hilfiger show in a striped navy and maroon long sleeve with jeweled bottoms. Like hers, pointed heels were popular as well (but attendees know to keep a pair of flats in their bags).
