The Empties Edit: Cetaphil Nourishing & Hydrating Body Cream

There are some products that really have me in a chokehold. Ones that will always have a recurring role in my routine. But these days, that’s a rare feeling when it comes to new products I’m trying. And not because there aren’t plenty of incredible products out there. It’s really because of the ways my skin has shifted as I’ve entered my thirties.

Now, I am way more prone to eczema flare ups, dryness, and inflammation in general. With that, comes many sensitivities to a myriad of products—especially those that are overly synthetic and heavily fragranced.

So, when I got the opportunity to test out Cetaphil’s latest product, the Nourishing & Hydrating Body Cream, I was so happy that my skin took super well to it. And, to be fair, I wasn’t completely surprised that this was the case, as Cetaphil has long been a staple in my upbringing and throughout adulthood, since the brand is known for its products for sensitive skin.

But, there is something truly special about this one in particular. And it’s not just the pink packaging that I’m absolutely obsessed with, either. Rather, the formula—which includes vitamin E and lipids—is next level.

When I arrived at the launch event last week, held at the spa inside of Hotel Chelsea, I got to meet with Dr. Michelle Henry who mentioned that the product would be absolutely perfect for my eczema-prone skin. And she wasn’t lying, either. After that, I was taken into a treatment room, where the masseuse utilized both the body cream and body lotion on my skin throughout the session. Ahead of the session, I was feeling extremely dry and dehydrated—embarrassingly so, to the point that I had to give the masseuse a heads up. I was nervous she would judge me. On the contrary, she was very sweet and reassuring.

At the end of the massage, not only did I feel relaxed, but also the moisture in my skin felt incredibly locked in. Since then, I’ve been using it daily. The complaint I have is that it’s not in a travel sized format yet, because I’m dying to throw this in my purse and take it everywhere with me.
