After 11:25 am EST, the wait was finally over for the official news confirming Joe Biden and Kamala Harris secured enough votes to become the President-elect and Vice President-elect of the United States. And folks around the world immediately started celebrating the official results on social media.

From Paris, France to Hollywood, world leaders, politicians and celebrities quickly joined in congratulating Biden and Harris on their long fought victory—and of course sending early farewell messages to current President Trump.

Ava DuVernay shared one of Trump’s most known phrases from his days hosting Celebrity Apprentice. The activist and director tweeted a clip of him saying “You’re Fired.” Several other names in Hollywood began echoing the same sentiment, including Jordan Peele and Insecure‘s Natasha Rothwell.

I’m so inspired and truly astonished to look and see a black woman in this position. I say BLACK because representation MATTERS! In America I have searched over and over again as a black girl for people in positions of power that look like me!
