Who knew serving time in prison came with luxuries like premium liquor and spa services?
According to a recent NBC News report, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is well aware. The 56-year-old former entertainment tycoon, also known as inmate #37452-054, is presently serving a sentence at the Fort Dix Federal Prison in Burlington County, New Jersey. The father of 7 was convicted on July 2, 2025, and is now serving a 50-month sentence for prostitution-related offenses.
Combs, who is the founder of the record label Bad Boy, Sean John clothing and lifestyle company and known for his strong ties like major brands like Ciroc is often credited with helping to establish the careers of hip-hop royalty such as the Notorious B.I.G. and Mary J. Blige.
The Harlem, NY native is now also known for an explosive (and triggering) video involving him and his former girlfriend and Bad Boy artist, singer Cassie, an extremely public trial that heavily involved cringe-worthy accusations from sex-trafficking to physical abuse and the downfall of a rapidly crumbling empire. Combs has been behind bars since being taken into federal custody and held without bail on September 16, 2024, after he was arrested by federal agents at a Manhattan hotel.
Now, individuals are speaking out about the type of treatment the once lauded executive is receiving at Fort Dix. NBC News tapped into four men who have spent time in the same unit as the disgraced hip-hop mogul. According to the outlet, they were granted anonymity to speak freely about life inside the prison. The claims range from absurd to almost inconceivable.
“This is not some normal s— you see in jail. This is some rich s—,” said one of the men. “It looks crazy, but again, it’s Diddy.”

According to NBC News, multiple sources said Combs uses contraband cellphones to scroll Instagram and scan nude and sexually explicit photos that an old girlfriend sends him. He’s been able to buy an antidepressant drug sought out for its mood-boosting effects — Remeron from other inmates. He often drinks from a secret stash of premium liquor, which has been smuggled in by guards and shared with a tight group of fellow inmates.
Allegedly Combs pays someone to clean the toilet and shower areas before he uses them, and men have secretly cooked him special meals — curry chicken, pizza, empanadas — using a makeshift heating element submerged in water, according to NBC News. There are also inmates who hold the former Making the Band star’s fan mail for him. Supposedly he doesn’t have enough room for all of it. Other surprising perks include Chinese-like massages and obtaining a “jailbroken” tablet that he has used to watch movies and documentaries — including Sean Combs: The Reckoning, the Netflix docuseries produced by 50 Cent. There are also men, presumably fellow inmates, who Combs pays to make his bed and do his laundry.
A spokesperson for Combs shared the following statement, according to NBC News :
“The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’s life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news,” the spokesperson said. “The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal.”
NBC News also reported that a Bureau of Prisons spokesperson said the agency does not comment on a particular inmate’s conditions due to “privacy, safety and security reasons.”
Per the outlet, the spokesperson added in a statement. “Like all correctional agencies, contraband, particularly cell phones, narcotics, and weapons, remains a constant challenge, and we continue to tackle the problem of contraband being introduced into our facilities.”
Combs has also made headlines recently for legal trouble on the other side of his prison bars too. NBC News previously reported that attorneys for the disgraced multi-hyphenate dropped him for unpaid legal fees. Per the filing made earlier this month, Combs is more than six months behind on fees. He was accused of not paying his long-overdue invoices and becoming uncooperative.
Combs is currently scheduled to be released from federal prison on January 21, 2028. His projected release date has been moved up multiple times by the Federal Bureau of Prisons from its original June 2028 timeline.
